Inpatient Care at Hunterdon Medical Center
Hunterdon Medical Center has a comprehensive, 48-bed Medical/Surgical/Oncology inpatient unit for people in need of acute care. Located on the 3rd floor of the Medical Center, this unit is equipped with the advanced technology that is essential to oncologic care. The unit is staffed by caring and compassionate nurses, many of whom have received oncology nursing certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a national certification board.
During their stay, patients and their families have access to professionals from nursing, social work, medical and radiation oncology, pharmacy, home health services, nutrition, rehabilitation, hospice, pastoral care and psychiatry.
Patients on the inpatient unit can receive visits from loved ones 24 hours a day. The nursing staff will make arrangements to have a cot placed in a patient room to accommodate overnight stays. In addition, the unit has a refrigerator and microwave available for visitors who bring food from home.
