Dorothy Cawley a resident at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township turned 103 on December 4th and donated $105 to Hunterdon Medical Center’s Lights of Love Campaign.  To mark this special birthday, she donated one dollar for every year and an extra $2, one to grow on and one for good luck.  Ms. Cawley worked at the Hunterdon Medical Center as a switchboard operator for 18 years and has been a dedicated donor to the hospital.

For over 20 years, Hunterdon Medical Center has lit the  “Lights of Love” tree the first week of December  to honor and memorialize thousands of loved ones and in doing so has raised over a half million dollars.  Donations can be made throughout the year to honor a birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding or memorialize a loved one. You can do this by making a $10 tax-deductible donation to the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation requesting that a “light of love” be placed on the “Lights of Love” Tree that stands on the front lawn of the Hunterdon Medical Center.  In addition, you can make a larger donation in which shining ornaments will be placed on the tree.  These levels include:  Circle of Love - $500, Candlelight - $250 and Starlight - $100.

For additional information and to make a donation, call the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation at 908-788-6141.
